UFO Extra

UFO Extra is a website developed in a partnership between the Missing Link Network and the Filer Research Institute.   Run by John Whelan and Major George Filer (USAF, Ret),  the mission of the site is to provide a repository of UFO related information - sightings, photographs, video (when available) as well as other topics which might be of interest to their readers.

The site is the brainchild of John Whelan and is based largely around George Filer’s “Filer’s Files” weekly UFO email newsletter which is sent out to thousands of readers every week.  John partnered with Major Filer in early 2008 to develop the site in the hopes of reaching a broader audience.

Major Filer became interested in UFO’s when he was tasked with intercepting one while in the USAF.  “I was asked by London Control to investigate an unidentified flying object while flying  tankers for the US Air Force. I saw what looked like the lights of an airborne cruise ship and I picked up a huge return on my radar the size of the Firth of Forth Bridge in Scotland. We dove at the craft as it shot up into space. I’ve been chasing UFOs ever since” Says Major Filer when asked about how he got started with UFO research.  He was a flier and intelligence officer while in the Air Force.

The 600 sighting reports we recieve each month indicate UFO’s are conducting operations in our skies. For ten years Filer’s Files have reached thousands of people. We wish to expand our reach to people all over the world.

Major Filer is the Director MUFON Eastern Region for twentyone states, and the New Jersey State Director. He has been investigating cases for twenty years. He is also Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey Air Force Association.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bradley University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration form Central Michigan University. He had his own televison show for several yars called Investigations UFO.

When asked why he does what he does, Major Filer responds: “I feel the scientific study of UFOs is for the benefit of humankind and is an important endeavor.”  He is in contact with thousands of people and military personnel that regularly report sightings of UFOs.
